Deep Approaches to Massage 2: Psoas and the Lower Back

This course is two days: Monday 3/24 9am-430pm, and Friday 3/28 9am-4pm

Signature services provide a unique experience that only your can provide. It adds diversity to your menu and expands your value to guests seeking something beyond just massage.

This course is designed to introduce you to, or enhance your current skills in spa concepts, service development, and creating a Signature Service Experience for your business - AND your guests! We will review product, protocols, dry room services, and you will perform a basic service.

Day two will build on what you have learned and performed, and you will create your own unique protocol, menu description and guest experience to share with the class.

    Please bring the following to each class:

  • 3-4 large bath towels or bath sheets

Deep Approaches to Massage 1: Neck and Shoulders; TMJ

An introduction to and review of advanced skill sets.

This series re-examines the anatomy and regional pathologies for the course’s specific focus. Each course provides techniques, body mechanics, key access points and indicators for success. Content includes tools, communication strategies and unique considerations per region. Classes consist of lecture, discourse and hands-on time.

·      Focus on the Neck: techniques and work to prepare and release restrictions of the neck; upper thoracic and cervical spine.

·      Gain skills to address guest needs and your body mechanics, while working deeply to relieve chronic tension and restricted movement.

·      Pursue deeper understanding by giving, watching and receiving work in class.

We will review key factors for maintaining a long practice and for properly applying pressure so that fatigue does not reduce your capacity for success. Work to develop skills for your practice, self assessment, and the application of power instead of force. You will also develop skills to help assess and help other MTs with their body mechanics and longevity!
